Calotte Academy 2015: Resources and Security in the Globalized Arctic

Researcher and PhD-candidate Gerald Zojer will represent HuSArctic at this year’s Calotte Academy under the theme ‘Resources and Security in the Globalized Arctic’, with a particular regional focus on the Barents Sea area. On Saturday, June 6th, in Inari, Gerald Zojer will give his presentation on ‘Arctic environmental governance as a venue for socio-economic power struggels’, addressing the challenges and opportunities for Arctic communities that derive from globalization.

The Calotte Academy, an annual traveling symposium, will be organized between May 31 - June 7 in 2015. Sessions will take place in Rovaniemi, Salla and Inari, Finland; in Apatity and Murmansk, Russia; and in Kirkenes, Norway.
