Researcher Gerald Zojer represented HuSArctic at the Conference “Petrocultures 2016: The Offshore”, in St. john's, Newfoundland (CAN). His presentation was titled: The Role of Hydrocarbon Development in Arctic Governance and its Interplay with Human Development in the Region.


The seminar on integrated governance of natural resources was held in Ilomantsi on 7-8 June 2016. The seminar was organized by the Institute for Natural Resources, Environment and Society, University of Eastern Finland.

The annual traveling symposium Calotte Academy will be organized between May 31 - June 7, 2015 in Rovaniemi, Salla and Inari, Finland; in Apatity and Murmansk, Russia; and in Kirkenes, Norway. The theme of the
annual travelling symposium will be ‘Resources and Security in the Globalized Arctic’ with a particular regional focus on the Barents Sea area.


HuSArctic team member Miguel Roncero, researcher and PhD-candidate, participated at the 10th edition of the ‘Vienna Anthropology Days – or Tage der Kultur- und Sozialanthropologie’, which took place from 23 to 25 April 2015. His presentation on resource fairness – which was titled ‘Arctic Resources: Development for Whom?’ – is available for download.
